You Don’t Need to Be Rich to Retire Early—You Need a Clear Plan

Buy back your time and retire while you’re still healthy enough to enjoy it.

About Sabado

I spent 25 years leading HR for Fortune 500 companies, navigating the high-stakes world of the corporate machine. For over two decades, I was the one managing the people and the politics. But despite the title, I hit a wall when I realized I was being paid 40% below market value compared to my peers. I provided the data, waited for the change, and watched as the goalposts were moved again and again.

I realized the "Corporate Machine" would never value my time as much as I did. So, at 51, I stopped asking for permission, spoke to my financial advisor, and traded my golden handcuffs for total freedom.

A Retirement Rooted in Growth

I didn't just retire from a job; I retired to a life of purpose. Today, I am a University of California–certified Master Gardener. I’ve traded high-stress boardrooms for the soil, teaching my community how to grow nutritious food and strengthen their connection to the land.

My background in Sociology taught me that humans aren't meant to just exist in cubicles—we are meant to thrive, connect, and grow.

Why "The Everyday Retiree"?

On this channel, I share my journey toward financial freedom, wellness, and intentionality. When you’re no longer counting down the minutes until Monday, Saturdays become a permanent state of mind. I’m here to show you that a fulfilling retirement is about more than the number in your spreadsheet; it’s about:

  • Reclaiming your health (because health is the only real wealth).

  • Finding your "What's Next" through hobbies and community.

  • Navigating the transition with the same strategic passion I once brought to HR—just with much better scenery.

I’ve discovered that when you ditch the corporate calendar, life finally begins. I’m here to help you find your "Saturday," every single day.
